No more than a 15 minute stroll down the city’s main street separate “downtown city apartments and studios” from the citadel of Ioannina’s beautiful castle. In this magical place – that we recommend you to visit one way or another during your stay here – you will find our town’s Silversmithing Museum. The museum, which opened in September 2016, belongs to a network of museums founded and funded by the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation (PIOP) and with its state-of-the-art audiovisual means takes you back in time and unravels the secrets of the renowned local silversmiths, throughout the centuries. The museum also hosts other seasonal exhibitions and serves as a venue for various art festivals.
